My name is Adam Wright. I’m the product of a stubborn, hard-working, old-fashioned manual laborer and a stubborn, intuitive, determined brainiac. I embrace technology with embarrassing infatuation. To create systems that talk to each other and get work done for me excites the core of my being. I feel like a superhero and my superpower is making technology do my bidding. I find myself always moving toward the next step, toward the more efficient solution, toward the best result. I’ve accepted that I contain a level of communication that has been helpful and necessary in every workplace I’ve been a part of. I’ve been told I’m exceptionally keen on understanding and solving problems, even ones that I have no experience with. Also, andย more importantly, recognizing which route to a solution is the right one to take. One solution to a problem isn’t right for everyone, and I believe that identifying that is the first step toward getting to your goals effectively and efficiently.ย Lastly, I am vigilant about taking action on those solutions. If something breaks, the ‘wait-and-see’ method isย NOT good for business.
I’m a geek and I’m good at it.
Thanks for checkin out my site!

    Hi!

It wasn’t easy navigating your website (most of the time I had to hit CTRL+A just to see anything lol) but you did a very good thing for me, so I felt it would be only fair if I go a certain length as well just to say thanks! ๐Ÿ™‚

I overheard friends talking about Quale and consoles and overall coolness of it, so we all then figured it would be awesome to have something like that in Win ๐Ÿ˜‰

Quick Google query revealed an article at http://www.instructables.com/id/%22Drop-Down%22,-Quake-style-command-prompt-for-Window/ but, unfortunately, it wasn’t very well space-formatted. I managed my way through, but still not as good as I’d like ๐Ÿ™‚

Then I found out your post in the comment section leading me to http://adamisageek.tumblr.com/post/27245663/quakeconsole

    YAY!
I missed one CRLF lol, but your post basically threw the error in my face and it was impossible to miss it ๐Ÿ˜€

Thank you for doing this, even if it was 2 years ago, but you made one sad panda a happy one ๐Ÿ™‚

I guess you figured by now English is not my primary language, so forgive any random nonsense ๐Ÿ™‚

Once again, thank you very very much ๐Ÿ™‚

      Hi!
Sorry I’ve been going through some blog changes and I’ve yet to decide on a look I like. :/
I’m glad that old Quake Console script I worked on helped you. ^_^

        Hi Adam,

I’m currently using a dropdown console called Wuake, which seems similar to yours (it uses Console and Autohotkey). It works well, but there’s one huge annoyance: it doesn’t return focus to the previously active program.

I started searching around, and found Quake Console through your comment on that Instructables article. Unfortunately, your download link is broken now. Any chance I could get that program?

        Thanks!

Sadly, I haven’t done anything with QuakeConsole in a long, long time. However I seem to constantly get requests so maybe I’ll have to consider re-opening that project.

    Hello!

@Justus -> I have it, so can put it for download if you haven’t managed to find it yet ๐Ÿ™‚

@Adam -> It’s good to see you changed the website theme. This one is much more friendly to the eye ๐Ÿ™‚
